2008 Scholarship winner – Jenna Hunter
Jenna Hunter, Robinson class of 2008, was twice selected to the all-Virginia band/orchestra, and in the summer of 2008 she worked with with Judy Lapple's woodwind camp at George Mason University.
Whether the students were preparing for something musically or anything important in life, noted Hunter on her application, "valuable lessons were taught and learned in the Robinson music program, and for that I will always be grateful."
November 2008 - An update from Jenna's mother:
"I want to thank you for the scholarship money. It meant so much to Jenna, especially after being told time and again that there was no scholarship money for flute players.
We just got back from visiting Jenna at UNC School of the Arts this weekend. It was parent weekend and she was playing in her first performance with the Philharmonia. It was so good to hear her play again ... I sure do miss her, but she is doing very well there and loves the school. Your new website is great! I really enjoyed reading it all!
I'm sure you'll hear from Jenna with more details about how things are from her perspective. I just want to thank you again for her scholarship, and for making this available to deserving musicians at Robinson. We will do what we can to support your efforts. The scholarship was truly a blessing for Jenna!
Again, thank you!"
