2009 Scholarship winner – Jack Sutey
Jack Sutey, Robinson class of 2009, was the Robinson band program president and played first chair bassoon in the all-Virginia high school symphonic band, among numerous other music-related honors and awards. He also was a member of the National Honor Society and an executive board member of the National German Honor Society.
A "drive for perfection" that developed from participating in the band program "will live with me for the rest of my life," Sutey wrote in his application essay. The essay eloquently focuses on a particular musical piece that became a defining experience as Sutey learned and played it--read it for yourself!
